Surviving the holidays can be rough on many people who are experiencing loss or loneliness. Here are some tips that may be helpful in surviving this holiday season if you, your family member or friend are experiencing circumstances which could be linked to Holiday Stress.

 

Topic: Surviving Holiday Stress (Divorce, Singlehood, Loss Etc.)

  1. Identify origin of the main stressor
  2. Write out feelings to externalize internal emotions
  3. Select a confidant as a support person to talk through stress
  4. Create new rituals that still honor old ones
  5. Utilize spiritual resources like prayer and meditation
  6. List active steps towards new experience for next year’s holiday season
